Duralloy WeatherCor ER80S-G Weathering Steel MIG Wire

Duralloy WeatherCor is a low-alloy solid MIG wire formulated for joining Corten and other atmospheric corrosion-resistant weathering steels. Its weld deposit is designed to support the strength, durability and weathering characteristics required in exposed architectural, structural and infrastructure applications.

The precision layer-wound wire provides consistent feeding and stable welding performance in workshop and production environments. Its ER80S-G classification places it in the 80 ksi tensile-strength class, making it suitable for higher-strength weathering-steel fabrication when selected and used in accordance with the applicable welding procedure.

Fresh weld metal will initially appear metallic and will weather over time. Final colour and patina development will vary with the base steel, environment, surface preparation and welding procedure.

Recommended Setup

• A MIG/GMAW power source and wire feeder compatible with a 15 kg spool.
• Correct drive rolls, liner and contact tip for the selected wire diameter.
• DC electrode positive (DCEP), subject to the approved welding procedure.
• Argon/CO2 mixed shielding gas selected in accordance with the WPS and base-material requirements.
• Clean, dry joint surfaces and parameters set by the approved WPS.
